Being a counselor in training (CIT) is a valuable for both the CIT and the camp. For Campers who have aged out of being a camper SFC provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain experience working with children, and learn about the responsibilities of being a future counselor. For the camp, having CITs helps to ensure a strong future staff providing a pool of potential counselors who are already familiar with the camp culture and expectations. Additionally, CITs can provide extra support to the current staff.
